Santa Ruins is a hidden place awaiting restoration in Gumushane, in Turkey’s Black Sea region.
We’ve wanted to see Santa Ruins for a long time. We finally had the opportunity to visit in June 2023.

Our visit coincided with a foggy day. The photos we took reflect a mystical atmosphere.
Frankly, we were a little disappointed that the weather was foggy, because we couldn’t see anything. But it turns out it had to be like this. Still, I really liked the photos we took in this foggy weather. They’re like scenes from a mysterious movie.

After an adventurous journey of about two hours from the center of Trabzon, we passed through an incredibly green nature and finally reached the Santa Ruins. While the climate in Trabzon was hot enough to walk around in a T-shirt, the weather got worse and colder as the altitude increased. I can say that it was as if we traveled into a rain cloud.
